Caffe Bar Trčika

About the project

LOCATION — Novi Sad, Serbia

PROJECT TYPE — Hospitality

YEAR — 2024

Caffe Bar Trčika combines the character of traditional hospitality interiors with a contemporary approach to space. Inspired by classic European restaurants and historic city cafés, the design uses timber, darker tones and carefully resolved details to create an intimate and recognizable atmosphere.

Concept

The interior is connected to a generous glazed garden, creating continuity between different guest areas. A centrally positioned bar forms the functional and visual focus, while separate seating settings support different ways of using the space. Slightly raised banquette areas introduce variety, and transparent surfaces maintain a connection with the city.

Design and materials

Timber wall and vaulted-ceiling cladding define the interior identity. Dark brick, metal details and bistro-inspired furniture contrast with the warmer timber surfaces. A carefully detailed bar, brass railings and retro-inspired lighting act as focal elements, while the exterior combines a simple black structure, large glazing, timber decking and planting.

Spatial aesthetics

Traditional hospitality architecture is reinterpreted through contemporary materials and detailing. Deep green upholstery, natural timber and low ambient lighting evoke the atmosphere of classic urban venues, while the transparent garden structure introduces openness and lightness.
